4. Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Cookies are small files that your browser automatically creates and stores on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your device and do not contain viruses, Trojans or other malware.

A cookie stores information arising in connection with the specific device used. However, this does not mean that we obtain direct knowledge of your identity.

On the one hand, cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly. For example, we use so-called session cookies to recognise that you have already visited individual pages of our website. These are automatically deleted after you leave our website.

In addition, we also use temporary cookies to improve usability. These are stored on your device for a defined period of time. If you visit our website again in order to use our services, it will automatically be recognised that you have visited us before and which entries and settings you made, so that you do not have to enter them again.

On the other hand, we use cookies to record the use of our website statistically and to analyse it for the purpose of optimising our website and services for you (see Section 5). These cookies enable us to recognise automatically, when you return to our website, that you have visited us before. These cookies are automatically deleted after a defined period of time.

The data processed by cookies are necessary for the purposes described above in order to safeguard our legitimate interests and those of third parties pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. However, you can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer, or so that a notice always appears before a new cookie is created. Please note, however, that disabling cookies completely may mean that you are unable to use all the functions of our website.

Web Analytics / Tracking

We use the web analytics software Matomo (www.matomo.org) to carry out statistical analysis of user behaviour on this website. For the same purpose, anonymous user profiles may be created from this data. Cookies are used for this purpose.

The data collected by Matomo are processed anonymously on our server. If you do not agree to the storage and analysis of this data arising from your visit, you may object to such storage and use at any time. In that case, an opt-out cookie will be stored in your browser to ensure that Matomo does not collect any session data.

Please note that if you delete all cookies from your browser, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted and may need to be reactivated by you.

If you have configured your browser to reject tracking, Ferienhaus am Mattenweg will of course respect this setting.

You can recognise whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form by the closed key or padlock symbol displayed in your browser’s status bar.

We also use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
